Low Code Hackathon 2026

Context

Low-code hackathon project focused on circular economy and industrial waste exchange.

Challenge

Design a marketplace experience that feels credible to industrial players while staying simple enough to prototype fast in Mendix.

Process

  1. 01Persona mapping for generators, buyers, and operators.
  2. 02Information architecture for listings, matching, and traceability.
  3. 03Storytelling and value proposition across onboarding and dashboard views.
  4. 04UI screens aligned with low-code component constraints.

My role in the project

Product Designer

Hackathon Low Code 2026 · 2026

  • SaaS B2B in Mendix Low Code connecting generators and buyers of industrial waste, based on the concept of industrial symbiosis and converting passive waste into a financial asset.
  • Led the discovery phase and defined personas for both sides of the marketplace (waste generator and buyer), mapping distinct pain points via empathy mapping and user journey maps.
  • Applied storytelling to align the multidisciplinary team (design, low-code dev, and business) around the problem and value proposition, an approach that accelerated decision convergence during the hackathon.

Navigation Flow

Greenback user flow chart

Mapping out the user flow and task navigation (User Flow) for the B2B app, from the initial registration of generator or buyer companies to chemical product data management and transactions.

B2B Persona

Greenback B2B Persona - Carlos Silva

Detailed definition of the B2B persona (Carlos Silva, Industrial Operations Manager), consolidating his lifestyle, corporate pain points, operational goals, and specific interests to drive user-centered design decisions.

Empathy Map

Greenback Empathy Map

Empathy map for Carlos Silva to identify feelings, operational concerns (such as environmental fines and efficiency), and market influences, informing touchpoints and platform tone.

MoSCoW Matrix

Greenback MoSCoW prioritization matrix

MoSCoW prioritization matrix applied to structure the hackathon project scope, clearly distinguishing between indispensable features (Must Have) and those deferred for the initial version (Won't Have).
